November 19th, 2008

Tomorrow (November 20) is the Transgender Day of Rememberance.

If you're in a position to attend any of your local services - there are a lot in the Toronto area - I'd really suggest doing it.

The guiding principles:

* It is up to us to remember the trans people who were murdered, because their killers, law enforcement, and the media too often try to erase who they were and their existence;
* To affirm the value of trans lives in the face of this erasure;
* To effect change in our communities and in society at large;
* To honor the dead.

Even if you can't go to an event, take some time to at least look through the site and make yourself aware of the issues and the violence.
